Niché face à l’océan Atlantique, au cœur d’un parc botanique de onze hectares, le Palais est né de la métamorphose de l’ancien palais des gouverneurs – symbole du pouvoir colonial – en un lieu vivant de culture, de transmission et de création. ....Du 28 novembre 2025 au 15 mars 2026, le Palais de Lomé présentera Design in West Africa: Unity in Multiplicity, une exposition d’envergure internationale, commissariée par Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte. Rassemblant des designers et artistes du Bénin, du Burkina Faso, de la Côte d’Ivoire, du Ghana, du Mali, du Nigeria, du Sénégal et du Togo, l’exposition proposera un dialogue entre créativité contemporaine et architecture coloniale réinventée. Occupant l’ensemble du rez-de-chaussée, les terrasses et les jardins du Palais, elle offrira une cartographie vivante des héritages partagés et des formes émergentes du design ouest-africain, réaffirmant la place centrale de la créativité africaine dans le discours culturel mondial. ..From November 28, 2025, to March 15, 2026, the Palais de Lomé will host Design in West Africa: Unity in Multiplicity, an international exhibition curated by Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte. Bringing together designers and artists from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, and Togo, the exhibition will spark a dialogue between contemporary creativity and the site’s reimagined colonial architecture.
